What our customers say...

"My husband is a cattle breeder from South East Queensland and I come from an Irish farming background. We are both used to the superior flavour of free range beef and poultry. McDonagh’s Meat Boutique is the only butcher we have found in Sydney that supplies consistently high quality pasture fed beef. Their free range pork reminds me of the meat we ate in Ireland when I was a child. We recommend McDonaghs at every opportunity, not only is their meat superb, but their attention to detail and customer service do them great credit."

Important things you should know about lamb...

There are seven very nutritional benefits of lamb that ought to lead you to take it on a more regular basis.

  • Lamb is an excellent source of high-quality protein.
  • Lamb is an ideal source of iron, providing 20% of the recommended daily intake for men and 12% for women. It is easily absorbed by the body and vital in the formation of red blood cells
  • Lamb also provides 45% of the daily requirement of zinc, essential for growth, healing and a healthy immune system. Like iron, the body more easily absorbs the zinc found in lamb than zinc found in other sources.
  • Lamb is a great source of B vitamins, essential for metabolic reactions in the body. It can provide over 100% of the daily requirement of B12 and is a good source of thiamine.
  • Lamb also contains trace elements such as copper, manganese and selenium.
  • Half the fat in lamb is unsaturated, therefore good for the body and, in general, the amount of fat in lamb has been greatly reduced in recent years due to better feeding and butchery methods.
  • Lamb is also great value which, even if not immediately nutritional, can make you feel good!
